Influences of Poor in Democracy
Globalization has led to a focused attention of developments in South Asia; Pakistan as an American front line ally against war on terrorism and India as a newly emerging economic power. The two countries of South Asia became independent at the same time, August 14-15, 1947. Only India managed to develop as a constitutional democratic republic with a government of, by and for the people for last 62 years. Unlike Pakistan, India is now at the threshold and statistically unlikely to deviate from e...
K Bhatia Dr.Ratan Bhattacharj: Helping poor is like helping the drowning man. Poor should not be poor if they are given to work. There are many poor who curse their luck and do not work. Hard work and honesty have made America a rich nation. In India poor people are given unnecess.... [2 comments]
India in Pre-Vedic times - 8000 BCE
The popular belief in modern times is that concern with protecting Environment, Nature and Wildlife is a present-day phenomenon. Not so. Certainly not in so far as Ancient India is concerned. Please see Bhagwan S. Gidwanis Return of the Aryans (published by Penguin Books - ISBN 0-14 - 024053 - 5). This book has innumerable instances to show the concern of our ancients with Environment in pre-Vedic times from the very dawn of civilization when the roots of Sanatan Dharma were formed. ...

MF Hussain - Secular Holy cow or...?
ART IS BIG BUSINESSThe organisers of India Art Summit 2008 decided to exclude MFHs paintings from the displays for fear of protests by Hindu organisations. Even in the 2009 summit MFHs paintings were officially excluded. The exhibition was conducted between August 22 & 24 last year at Pragati Maidan in New Dlehi. After this SAHMAT (Safdar Hashmi Memorial Trust) went ahead and conducted its own exhibition of MFHs paintings. Some Hindu organisations did protest and reproductions of some paintings w...

Kyoto Treaty and Environtal Game
Not much time is left before a climatic catastrophie will occur to the entire world , if the predictions of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change ( UNFCCC) are correct correct. However, both India and China have joined USA to undermine the Kyoto Treaty of 1997 to arrest further damages to the worlds climate by controlling human activities that may have caused the crisis. The main culprit according to UNFCCC is the emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) by the industry and the trans...

New Wave of Christian Inquisition in Goa
I understand that a blast took place at 2130 hrs on the night of 16 October, 2009 when explosives allegedly kept in a scooter went off on a busy street in Margao, Goa. The Goa Police is desperately trying to implicate the so-called Right-wing group Sanatan Sanstha in this unfortunate incident. Right-wing group is the standard terminology for all the Hindus of India including all the Dharmacharyas and Shankaracharyas! It has been widely reported that there is an effort to mischievously link this ...

Ganga: The Soul of India
In the Sanskrit verse, ADI SHANKARA, offers his reverential salutations to GODDESS GANGA. The broad meaning of the verse is as follows:Oh Goddess! Goddess of all Divine Beings, Revered Ganga! Afpakia War: America"s necessity
Americas offshore strategy of war (Part I) has yielded many unintended consequences. Both America and Pakistan are paying heavy price in material, military and civilian losses, not to mention sufferings of millions in tribal Afpakia areas. Obama Nobel: Downside for India?
The Indian media did not have enough of Obamas election campaign and presidential inauguration. It was as if the election happened right here and not thirteen thousand kilometres (eight thousand miles) away. We are, as a people, given to paying obeisance as courtiers to kings and emperors, sahibs and gora sahibs and the neo-Moghal dynasty that has been ruling post independence. It comes naturally to us....

LeT op in J&K & SRK detention in US
The following is the transcript of INTVs Primetime News Debate on August 15, 2009. The day was quite eventful. A group of LeT terrorists surrounded, Pulwanpur, a border village in J&K holding its entire population hostage. Indian security forces launched a counter attack to free an estimated 500 inhabitants of the village. After a fierce gun battle lasting more than twenty four hours, the army finally succeeded in doing this but in the operation, Major Pritam Singh, Capt. Harish Kumar and nine j...

The rumor mill has gone around that the surviving families will receive compensation of one lakh rupees each. Durga Puja in Rome - Its non-negotiable
Let the West look at its own ugly, septic warts. If Christians can celebrate Christmas in New Delhi, Hindus have the right to celebrate Durga Puja in Rome. This is non-negotiable.I spoke to Dr.Subramanian Swamy, a great Field-Marshall for the deathless cause of survival of Hinduism today. He told me: I strongly condemn the Italian government for arbitrarily and wilfully disrupting the Durga pooja in Rome organised by the resident Bengalis. The Indian Ambassador was scheduled to appear at the po...

My experience of Profiling at US airline
I realized then and there the importance of racial profiling. I would rather go through the tedious screening than let the plane take off without it.
