How do we publish the approved articles/columns/letters?

1. We may publish the content on our web site (1,00,000+ page views and 30,000+ unique visitors per month) And/OR
2. We may include the content in one of our newsletters. (Delivered to 8000 members)

What is the basis for approval?

The content must be written by you, original and not copied from any other source. The author should have copy-writes to the article. If your article is already published in other sources/publications it is your responsibility to get the republishing permission from that source. (That means the other publications should not object us publishing the article at iVarta). After we receive the content, article will be approved based on the merits of quality of the content. The process of editing may take about a week. We try to inform the author after the article is published.

Does iVarta.com pay for these contributions by writers?

iVarta.com does not pay for any contributions of articles/columns/letters by individuals or organizations. Thought we do not pay for these contributions, we are confident, the articles published on our Website or in newsletters will certainly find readership among our vast membership and regular visitors.

Please follow these guidelines when sending your article.
All other Articles may be ignored.
 
Authors themselves must send us the article.
Authors must write the article using their original (real) name. We do not accept pen/dummy/fake names. Any article written using different names, than your real name, will be deleted when such a case comes to our notice.
The Article should contain atleast 600 words of text (minimum 1 MS-Word page). You can verify the count using 'Tools'; 'Word Count' option in MS-Word before sending your article.
Mention 'For publishing - Title of your article' in the subject line of your email. We generally DELETE all the articles that DO NOT have the subject with 'For publishing'.
If your article is time-sensitive and requires fast processing, please mention 'For publishing (Time-Sensitive) - Title of your article' in the subject line of your email.
Article should be sent as MS Word Document attachment. Let us know you want to submit an article here. We shall send you an email id where to send the article. (If you do not have MS Word installed on your system, please contact us to discuss the alternative format to send your article. Please do not send your articles in PDF format.)
-- Please use "Arial" font, Size "10", "Single" Line Spacing in your article.
-- Start every new paragraph at the 1st column (leftmost column.)
-- Have exactly one empty line between any two paragraphs.
-- You can highlight important sentences by making them Bold, Italics etc.
-- You may also use 'Bullets' where required.
-- You may include hyperlinks in your article.
-- Do not hyperlinks to the references at the bottom. It becomes very difficult to edit such articles. You can give the reference numbers without hyperlinks. (see the example of hard to edit article) These types of articles will take long time for processing.
-- You may send your photograph (.gif or .jpg file) to be published with the column. For size please visit this link. You need to send your photograph only once.
The MS Word file should contain the following information:
  • Title of the article. Do NOT use all capital letters for the Title. (Ex: Title can be 'Kashmir Review' and not 'KASHMIR REVIEW')
  • Author's full name
  • Postal address, City, Country (Your address and email_id will not be published. Only the name will appear on the article.)
  • Phone number (required for the authenticity and our records - shall be kept on our records)
  • One or two line/s introduction of the author if any (optional.) Update us when any of the above information is changed, we shall take care of updating our records.
After receiving your article it will be acknowledged immediately and will be reviewed within 1 to 4 weeks. We shall inform you if it is approved and published on our site. If your article gets published in other publications during the review period, it is your responsibility to notify us about the copyrights.
